To celebrate National Coming Out Day in October, BGMC will present “Standing on the Side of Love,” a program of selections that touches on anti-bullying, built around a performance of Stephen Schwartz’s “Testimony.” Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Working, Wicked) composed the piece as a musical soundtrack to support a set of lyrics taken directly from submissions to Dan Savage’s “It Gets Better Project.” The results are quite moving, and the piece — originally intended for the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus — is becoming a musical cornerstone of the LGBTQ anti-bullying movement. A portion of concert proceeds for this event will benefit Gay and Lesbian Youth Services.

Your "voice" and generosity brings enlightenment, inspiration, healing, empowerment and harmony to the greater community and to each of us. Your contribution ensures the continued growth and success of the BGMC.
